Everything bad about people and having anything to do with them stems from some sort of insecurity. So much of evil comes from the need to compensate, this is not the kind of person you want to be around all the time.

People have a way of hiding their more nefarious, greedy, self-aggrandizing motives behind good-sounding principles. You may find yourself dragged into truly bad situations, doing bad things because of your association with the sanctimonious.

Your relationships are the world's business

Most people think of  mixed (ethnicity or religion) relationships, and same-sex relationships, as a judgment on them and their tastes. If you date outside of your race, or have a preference for your own gender you are somehow insulting all the people that you choose to not date. This is why same sex marriage, like interracial marriage, is seen as a challenge to traditional marriage.

Who you choose to spend your life with is seen as a direct judgment on them. They will do everything in their power to return the perceived condemnation.

Most people are insecure and self-doubting, seeking validation from every possible source, including random strangers on the street. They think that everything in the world somehow has to do with them, including a black chick and a white guy holding hands.

Why virginity has such a stigma (especially if you are a guy)

While male virginity has a stigma, nobody particularly wants to be a girl's first time either. Virginity seems to be an unpleasant, embarrassing state that most people do not want to deal with, in any circumstance.

It implies that there is something wrong with you
Unless you are fairly young, not having had sex implies that you have some kind of issue somewhere. Somebody would have picked you off by now if you were not hiding something.

It implies incompetence
This means that sex will be awkward and uncomfortable for both parties. The act will consist of reassurances and instruction. Those are not the kinds of things that most people want to associate with sex.

It's a big responsibility
Taking someone's virginity means that as long as they are alive they will remember you and the occasion. If it sucks, you will be associated with it for a long time in their minds. To be burned into somebody's brain like this can be intimidating.
